STAGING SYSTEM
The Staging system consents to optimize the memory of disks. Data which are not accessed for a selectable period are automatically moved on the tapes. Moreover, users can move files between tapes and file systems, maintaining an individual occupation level for each of the interested file systems.
This service shares the tapes with other services, by means of a Tape Dispatcher which uses the IBM LTO3584 tape library.
This solution was developed and is maintained by CASPUR, where it is in use since 1997. |
