DATA ANALYSIS AND STATISTICAL METHODOLOGY
The Data Analysis and Statistical Methodology group was established in 1998 within the CASPUR Consortium, following some professional consultancy agreements (such as with RAI – Italian Broadcasting Corporation). Our goals are the management of huge amounts of information data, along with their close analysis (in a statistical-descriptive way or through proper models). As we offer support to all internal and external sectors which need appropriate data mining strategies, our group holds a transversal position within the Consortium. Among our latest consultancies are:
- RAI: Auditel data and analysis of data relating to the quality of TV (IQS)
- Materials Development Center: elaboration of a model to for forecast defects in the steel production process
- ISPESL: industrial accidents analysis in Italy during 1992-2000
- Medtronic SpA: management and analysis of information from pacemakers
- Toro Assicurazioni: customer segmentation
We also collaborate with some academic institutions:
- Statistics Faculty: support to Applied Statistics courses
- Physics Department: experimental data analysis
- Genetics and Molecular Biology Department: analysis of data from micro arrays
- Analysis of access to electronic periodicals by CIBER subscribing Universities
At the moment, we are steering towards new methodologies, such as web technologies intended to ease the relationship between users and mining strategies. We are also involved in some studies looking at defining the optimum features of statistical software. Further information at Gruppo ADaMS’ homepage. |
