WAN SCALE DISTRIBUTED APPLICATIONS
BioGrid is a pilot project on the WAN scale, based on a numerical computation and database dedicated to computational biochemistry and material sciences.
The Universities involved are: La Sapienza and Tor Vergata (Rome), La Tuscia (Viterbo), Federico II (Naples), Basilicata (Potenza), Cagliari and Calabria (Cosenza). Moreover, HP Italia is expected as an external sponsor.
The project covers:
- Data warehousing and data mining on biomedical databases and their links with quantum and classical numerical simulations;
- Development of codes for an interface, via http, with their applications and for structural bio-informatics solutions.
