ROME-MIAMI VIOLA MASTER CLASS
On January, 30th, 2006, at the initiative of GARR, a “distance” master music class was successfully conducted by Italian maestro Luigi Alberto Bianchi, one of the world’s greatest viola players, with a New World Symphony Orchestra student in Miami. Maestro and student interacted at a distance, the first from CASPUR’s new auditorium in Rome (via dei Tizii, 2/c) and the second from Miami’s Lincoln Theatre. Thanks to the wideband connection between the two continents, developed by the European (GARR e GEANT2) and American (Internet2) Research Networks, the audio and video streaming flows were broadcast in real time at very high definition, bringing the video music lesson to life.
