AGREEMENT BETWEEN CASPUR AND DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE – UNIVERSITY OF PERUGIA

Agreement between CASPUR and Department of Internal Medicine – University of PerugiaDepartment of Internal Medicine at University of Perugia and CASPUR have recently contracted an official three years agreement concerning the use of high-performance computing to studying, among others, the biology of potassium ion channels, an important class of membrane proteins for the cure of central nervous system diseases and metabolic diseases. This agreement is aimed to study the relationships between structure and function of this important class of biological macromolecules by means of large scale molecular dynamics simulations and, according to that, CASPUR will also provide its HPC facilities and expertise to support collaboration projects with DMI largely in the area of computational biology.
