NEW TOOL W.I.S.A. (WEB INTERFACE FOR SEISMOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS)
Next February, 19, at the INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, National Institute of Nuclear Physics) in Rome, the new tool W.I.S.A. (Web Interface for Seismological Applications) will be presented. The application permits an easier execution of the numerical simulations concerning the interaction between ground and seismic radiation.
The tool prototypal configuration consents to execute simulations in 2D acoustic case (SH), and in a short time the elastic case treatment (P-SV) will be available too.
W.I.S.A. allows users to import data concerning complex geological structures, to execute the corresponding simulation on CASPUR’s parallel machines, and visualize their results (synthetic seismograms).
Currently, INGV researchers only can accede to W.I.S.A. For further information, please contact Dr. Arrigo Caserta at INGV.
