READY TO START THE FIRST EDITION OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL OF ADVANCED COMPUTING
 
From August 29 to September 9 2005, CASPUR organizes the first edition of the Summer School of Advanced Computing at Villa Montecucco in Castel Gandolfo (Rome). Classes are restricted to 20 participants with some experience in the field of scientific computing. During the first week the course will deal with subjects of general interest, such as: algorithms, use of databases in intensive computing, performances optimization, parallel computing, vector computing and scripting languages in the field of computation. The second week will focus mainly on two matters:
- Codes combination and multi-scale problems with applications in the field of meteorology and materials science;
- Management and analysis of data bases with applications in the bio-informatics and in the analysis of results of large-scale simulations.
These external guests have confirmed their participation:
- Jay Larson (Argonne National Laboratory – U.S.A.)
- Fabrizio Cleri (ENEA – Italy)
- Alfio Quarteroni (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - Switzerland)
- Tim Mattson (Intel Corp. – U.S.A.)
Those whishing to participate are required of a small fee for board and lodging.
