AMD OPTERON CLUSTER FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPUTING
 From Jenuary, 1st, 2005 a new infrastructure for high-performance computing is active. SLACS HPC Cluster has been developed in the course of the collaboration between CASPUR and Sardinian LAboratory for Computational materials Science (SLACS), and consists of 24 2 GHz AMD Opteron biprocessor nodes, interconnected in Gigabit Ethernet technology.
CASPUR's users can employ a part of this cluster's computing resources, which in any case remain of SLACS's property. Those whishing to test AMD Opteron technology in HPC sector can e-mail to cmslab@caspur.it.
